Privacy Policy
The short version: the barcode data you type into QrDeco never leaves your browser, because the generator runs on your device. This page covers the full picture — what little data exists when a page loads, what is stored locally, and how shared links work.
What QrDeco does not collect
There is no account system and no barcode database. The text you type is turned into an image in your browser and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
There are no advertising trackers embedded in the pages, and no personal profile is built from your visit.
Data that exists because you loaded a page
Like every website, QrDeco's pages are delivered by a static hosting provider. To serve a file, the provider's servers necessarily process technical request data — typically IP address, timestamp and user agent — under that provider's own retention policy. We do not receive those logs, and they are not combined into visitor profiles.
Your browser may also keep the page and its assets in its ordinary HTTP cache; clearing that cache removes them.
Local storage
QrDeco remembers a small number of preferences on your device through your browser's local storage: the language and theme you chose, and your most recent generator configuration. This information stays on your device and disappears when you clear your browser storage.
Shared links
The share button builds a URL whose hash encodes the current configuration — symbology, data, options and style. Anyone who opens the link can read what it carries, and the link works by travelling through the URL itself: generating or sharing it uploads nothing to us.
Treat a shared link like a postcard: only share configurations whose contents you are comfortable disclosing.
The mobile apps
QrDeco is also available as an iOS app and an Android app. They are the same generator on your phone or tablet: generation, styling and export all happen on the device. The apps contain no analytics, no advertising SDKs and no tracking.
The Android app does not request the INTERNET permission, so the operating system itself makes a network connection impossible; the iOS app makes no network requests either. What you type into the apps never leaves your device.
Children
QrDeco is a general-audience utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the pages contain nothing that targets them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page with a new date. Any change that affects how data is handled is described plainly, in the section it affects.
