Terms of Service

Using QrDeco is free and requires no account. These are the few rules that apply, written in plain language.

The service

QrDeco is a static web application that generates barcode images in your browser. It is provided free of charge, as-is, without warranty of any kind — we cannot guarantee that a symbol will scan on every scanner, at every size, or in every print condition.

Because generation happens on your device, the service depends on your own browser and connection; there is no account to lose and, on our side, no data of yours to lose.

What you are responsible for

You are responsible for the data you encode. Do not use QrDeco to create symbols for unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purposes.

Encoding a code grants no rights in the data it carries: numbers licensed from standards bodies such as GS1 must be lawfully held by you, and trademarks remain the property of their owners.

Before production printing, scan a printed sample with a real device. Print quality, contrast, module size and quiet zone decide whether a symbol reads, and those are properties of your output, not of this page.

Ownership

The images you export belong to you. QrDeco's interface, copy and design remain ours; the barcode encoding engine is open-source software distributed under the BSD-3-Clause license, honoured in full and published with its notices on the license page.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QrDeco and its authors are not liable for damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service — including lost profits, lost data or failed scans in production.

Changes

These terms may change as the service evolves; the current version always lives on this page. Using QrDeco after a change means you accept the updated terms.
